Art & Environment
The look and feel of our worship space is important to good liturgy.
Our Art and Environment committee members enrich the worship space with
liturgically appropriate decorations. The committee arranges flowers,
hangs banners and provides ideas for the church environment. The changing
look as we move through the liturgical year is accomplished by the work
of our Art and Environment Committee. For more information, please contact
Paul
Milan.

Cantors
The ministry of the parish cantor is to bring the song of the assembly
to life. The cantor leads and assists the sung prayer of the community.
Cantors require an excellent singing voice, the ability to read music
and learn it quickly. The parish provides training to suitable cantors.
For more information, please contact Paul
Milan.

Children´s Liturgy of the Word
Children are entitled to hear the Word of God at a level suitable to
their understanding. Our CLOW members ensure that this happens at the
10:30 Mass when children from grades 1-4 are dismissed to their care
at Children´s Liturgy of the Word. The readings of the day are
read, the psalm is sung and numerous activities designed to help them
understand what they´ve heard take place. Contact Paul
Milan for more information.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (formerly called Eucharistic
Ministers) are lay people who; after having received special training
and having been commissioned by the Archbishop; serve the parish by
distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. They are referred
to as extraordinary ministers, because the ordinary minister of the
sacrament of Communion is the priest or deacon. They also bring the
Eucharist to the sick and homebound. Scheduling of extraordinary ministers
of Holy Communion is done monthly by Eileen Lynch (contact info). If
you are interested in becoming an EM, please contact Paul
Milan.

Lectors
Lectors are specially trained lay people who come forth from the
assembly each week during Mass to not just read, but proclaim God’s
Word in the readings from the Sacred Scripture. Lectors should have
a clear voice and be comfortable with public speaking. If you are interested
in becoming a lector, please contact Paul
Milan.

Ministers of Hospitality
Our Ministers of Hospitality do much more than take up the collection
and stand around the rear of the church. Theirs is the first face you
see as they open the doors of the church to welcome you. As ministers
of hospitality, they extend Christ´s welcome to the parishioners.
They will help you find a seat. They make sure you leave with a bulletin
and a smile. Contact Paul
Milan for more information.

Music Ministry
Music is a vital part of the worship at St. Bartholomew the Apostle
Church. Currently we have a 30 member adult choir which normally sings
at the Sunday 10:30am Mass from September through June. Rehearsals are
held every Tuesday from 7:30pm until 9:00pm in the church. You don’t
have to be able to read music or be a great singer to join the choir.
If you can sing reasonably well and are willing to learn, you are welcome
to join the choir.
Our youth ensemble is a contemporary group which includes guitar, bass,
drums, percussion and keyboards as well as a chorus of singers.
Throughout the year at special liturgies we have guest musicians join
us on woodwinds, brass, strings and timpani. Accomplished, capable musicians
are welcome to join us for these special events. Contact Paul
Milan with any music ministry questions.
